How to choose a UAE e-invoicing provider: the 12 questions to settle before signing
There are 48 accredited + 9 pre-approved Service Providers on the UAE Ministry of Finance register, and almost none of them publish pricing or contract terms. The only reliable way to compare them is to ask every candidate the same questions, in writing, and keep the answers. These are the 12 dimensions we use — ask them yourself, or let us do it across all 52.
C1Pricing & commercial model
Setup / implementation fee, annual subscription, per-invoice bands, minimum commitment — and which parts are negotiable. If it isn't in writing, it isn't a price.
C2ERP & accounting integrations
Does the provider have a maintained, native connector for the systems you actually run — Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics? "We can integrate with anything" usually means a paid custom project.
C3Integration methods
API, SFTP, portal upload, email ingestion — which are included, which cost extra, and what is the path for a client still invoicing from Excel?
C4Onboarding time
Signature-to-live in working days — for a single-entity SME and for a multi-entity group. Get it as a written commitment, not a sales estimate; your compliance deadline depends on it.
C5Volume scalability
Price and performance at 100 versus 10,000 invoices a month. Where do the price breaks sit? Is there throttling at peak?
C6Multi-entity / multi-TRN support
Can one contract cover several TRNs? What does each additional entity cost? One dashboard or separate logins per entity?
C7Inbound and outbound
Both directions — issuing invoices (AR) and receiving them (AP). Some providers only do one side well, and the mandate involves both.
C8Peppol & cross-border reach
Peppol certification status, and how invoices reach foreign buyers outside the UAE network.
C9Support model
Arabic support? Support hours? A named account manager or a ticket queue? What is the SLA for a stuck invoice on deadline day?
C10Security & hosting
Where is your invoice data hosted — UAE, GCC, elsewhere? Which certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2)? Who inside the provider can see invoice contents?
C11Contract & portability
Minimum term, cancellation notice, and — most important — data export on exit. If leaving is hard, every future negotiation tilts against you.
C12SME fit
References from businesses your size and sector. A platform built for enterprise groups can drown a ten-person firm in complexity — and a lightweight tool can collapse under a group with six TRNs.
